About Dr. Val

dr val chiropractor brentwood caThank you for choosing Actus Chiropractic for your family’s health and wellness care. We are committed to providing all of you with the highest quality of both corrective and wellness chiropractic care possible, so that you can enjoy active, healthy lives. We work together to help you and your family reach your health and wellness goals.

I am a graduate of Pepperdine University (1995) with a Bachelor of Science degree. I focused on sports medicine with an emphasis on kinesiology and bio-mechanics — the study of movement. In 1999 I received my Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer West College of Chiropractic. I went into practice in 2000, and have owned my own business since 2001. In 2001 I also became certified in chiropractic pediatrics and the Webster Technique for pregnant women.

I am actively involved in my community, including coaching boys and girls varsity water polo at Freedom High School in nearby Oakley. I also run a summer water polo camp for kids in East Contra Costa County.

This practice is focused on each individual because everyone is unique . Therefore I focus on the cause of the problem in each individual, rather than masking general symptoms. I believe that optimal wellness is possible for each person, because the body has its own healing wisdom. This is done by removing interference from the nervous system.

My practice is a Family Wellness Center; I welcome patients of all ages. I am the only doctor certified in pediatric chiropractic in this geographic area. With that, we do a lot of pregnancy care and post-partum care. We love to take care of the kids because they have spines and nervous systems, too. So with their growth and development, the more we can stabilize and keep them in alignment, this care will increase their full potential later on in life as their bodies solidify.

People choose chiropractic care for many reasons, including stress, headaches, back pain, chronic conditions and injury rehab, as well as for maintaining optimal wellness. The greatest asset that chiropractic has to offer is to keep people well by helping the body cope with stressors – whether they are mental/emotional, chemical/environmental, or physical. I look forward each day to helping people find a balance in their life, and balance in their health.

We also educate you about diet, creating a healthier workplace, and increasing the overall quality of your health with a balanced lifestyle. I like clients to come to me not based on their insurance, but because they are going to the right place for the best possible care. If you ever have questions about your chiropractic care, please don’t hesitate to ask.We are here to help you live fully.
